Mission Statement - County Auditors
As elected officials, we the Auditors of Wayne County are mandated to serve the public. In our capacity as auditors we are an independent source of verification of all county officers and minor judiciary. This includes preparing a detailed annual report of the financial condition of the county within the time constraints allowed by law. It is our responsibility to oversee how and where county funds are spent. If we encounter any discrepancies or abuse of funds it is our duty to report them and if possible to make recommendations. Mindful that we are checking expenditures of the taxpayers' money and we will execute our duties to the best of our abilities without prejudice.
Carla J. Komar has served as Wayne County Auditor since her appointment on January 30, 2009. She is the daughter of Carl and Marilyn LaTourette and the wife of Michael Komar. They have 2 children Kayla and Trevor at home. She has an associate’s degree in accounting obtained from Lackawanna Jr. College. She is a member of and actively involved with the Torrey United Methodist Church, Torrey Cemetery Association, Enterprise Grange and ACE Snowmobile Club. She currently holds the position of Secretary for Oregon Township.
Judy O' Connell started her term as Wayne County Auditor on January 5, 2004. She is the daughter of The Reverend William and Rowena Elbert and the wife of Tim O’Connell. She has three married children: Bill Detwiler, Christine Detwiler Gustin, Jim Detwiler and 4 grandchildren. Her education includes accounting and business courses at Keystone School of Business and is a graduate of Penn State University. She is Treasurer of the Wayne County Republican Committee and a member of the Wayne County Council of Republican Women. She and her husband Tim are active committee people for the township of Oregon. She is a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church in Narrowsburg, NY.
Kathy Schloesser started her term as Wayne County Auditor on January 3, 2000. She has been a Wayne County businesswoman for over 20 years and is currently Vice President of Arbor Abstracting Corporation, a real estate settlement and title insurance agency. She is a graduate of St. Boniface Business School in Philadelphia and has attended LaSalle University and Luzerne County Community College. She is an active member of Wayne County Business and Professional Women, and was elected 1998 Woman of the Year. On the BPW district level, Kathy is serving her second term as Foundation Chairman. She is a member of St. John/St. Mary parish. Kathy is the mother of three children: Annemarie, Elizabeth, and Karl. |
